Football: Bruce out of Blades.

STEVE BRUCE is being lined up to manage Huddersfield Town after resigning as Sheffield United boss yesterday.

The 38-year-old quit the cash-strapped club after steering them to eight in Division One.

He said: "It's a sad day for me but by taking this action it shows how strongly I feel about the situation at the club."

Now Huddersfield owner, Barry Ruberry, wants Bruce to take over from axed Peter Jackson and is prepared to give the former Man U star an pounds 8million transfer kitty.
