Football tourney for Alex.

YOUNG footballers are holding a football tournament to raise money for primordial dwarf Alex Connerty.

Managers at the Maghull-based TMS Football Club will hold a seven-a-side tournament for boys and girls at the end of this month with all proceeds going to Alex's Walking With Giants charity.

The charity has been set up on behalf of the three-year-old Maghull boy.

The event, which will include teams of boys and girls aged between seven and 10, will be held at St George's School, Maghull on Sunday, June 29.

Organisers hope to raise up to pounds 5,000.

Organiser and TMS football coach, Brendan Grant, said: "What better way for a local club to support its own community than by raising much-needed funds for young Alex."

Any businesses who wish to advertise during the event or make a donation can contact Brendan on 0151-287 7077 or 07971 807502.
