Football: Win for Kerr kids.
Republic of Ireland U16s 3 Belgium U16s 1TWO goals in little over two second-half minutes set Brian Kerr's latest crop of Under-16s up for a comfortable win over their Belgian visitors at United Park, Drogheda last night.
Trailing to a 26th minute goal by Micke Mampuya, the Irish upped their game 13 minutes into the second half and were duly rewarded when David Murphy latched on to a long Keith Fahey pass before firing past Belgian goal keeper Braum Verbist for a deserved equaliser.
Fahey suddenly hit a golden patch as the home side took the lead two minutes later.
The Arsenal starlet fired in a low free kick from wide on the left which Stephen Kelly tapped home from close range.
