Football: Weir will get pounds 6k to stay.

HEARTS are ready to break the bank to keep David Weir at Tynecastle.

The Edinburgh club are willing to offer around pounds 6,000 a week to try to keep the defender - who is out of contract at the end of the season.

That could satisfy the player's cash demands but he may be ready to try his chances in England.

Weir's agent Bill McMurdo said: "David is undecided about his future but I think it's true to say that most players would like to play in England if given the chance and if they have the ability."
