Football: Warrior Barrett.

FALLEN giants Wigan have solved their half back crisis by signing Aussie superstar Trent Barrett on a three-year deal.

But the St George Illawarra ace will not be able to help the Warriors - who host Castleford tonight - in their bid to stay in the engage Super League.

Barrett, 28, who has agreed a contract of around pounds 200,000-a-season, is staying with St George until the end of the year when he is set to replace Dennis Moran on the import quota.

Barrett has confirmed he will still join Wigan even if they are relegated and said: "They're pretty confident they can claw their way back up the ladder but I'll definitely be coming."
