Football: UNITED AFFAIR WITH EUROPE'S HOLY GRAIL.. 31 YEARS APART.
IT took Sir Matt Busby 12 years from 1956 to a balmy night at Wembley in '68 to capture the Holy Grail of the European Cup. Busby's ageing team had failed to win the English title and many feared this final was Sir Matt's last chance to fulfil his ambition of European success. A 75th minute Greca goal forced extra time, before which Busby told his players: "If you pass the ball you will beat them." United did and the rest is history. Busby's pain of the Munich Disaster was eased. "It eased the guilt of going into Europe," he said. "It was my justification."

My 1994 Double winning side had a mental toughness and hunger.. but this crop are the best. They are legends."
