Football: The one that got away...

Byline: David Phillips

LISTENING to the BBC Coventry and Warwickshire commentary on the radio and tuning in to Sky on Saturday, I heard Leeds had gone 3-1 up against Birmingham.

A few moments later Jeff Stelling, who fronts the Soccer Saturday show, asked how a team could go from 3-1 to 2-2 in the space of a few minutes.

Sky's man on the spot had seen Leeds celebrate after Geoff Horsfield fired home but, unbeknown to him, the goal was disallowed and Birmingham dashed up to the other end to equalise.

The red-faced reporter was left spluttering as Stelling and his guests in the studio collapsed with laughter ... more haste, less speed is the phrase that springs to mind.
