Football: Stark's red alert; COWDENBTH 2 QUEEN'S PRK 1.

QUEEN'S manager Billy Stark has promised a crackdown on indiscipline after watching two of his players ordered off in injury time.

Stark was furious at the crazy scenes between the 91st and 93rd minutes which saw Damiano Agostini and Stuart Kettlewell red-carded and spent 10 minutes in the referee's room after the game.

A melee broke out and the two players picked up second bookings, while Cowdenbeath's Darren McGregor and Iain Mauchlen were also shown the yellow card. To make matters worse for Agostini he was injured in the tussle and had to be stretchered off.

Stark said: 'Indiscipline is something we are working hard on.'

His side took the lead after only two minutes when Kettlewell crossed for Frankie Carrol to fire the ball into the net.

But Cowdenbeath fought back and Dene Shields pounced on a John McKeown knock down to bring the scores level in 33 minutes. Darren Gribben netted the winner two minutes later, scoring from an acute angle after an opening by John Paul Kelly.

Dave Baikie, in his first home match in charge, was delighted after watching Cowdenbeath hold on for victory after Shields' 54th minute red card. He said: 'The players' attitude was spot-on. Third spot in the league is well within reach.'

For Stark it was a day of disappointment. He said: 'We played them off the park in the first half-hour, missed several chances and then gave away two soft goals.'
