Football: Serbia suffering ahead of clash.

SERBIA arrived in Cardiff yesterday, missing six of the squad who played against Wales in Belgrade in August.

But coach Ilija Petkovic insisted he would accept no excuses for a below-par performance at the Millennium Stadium this evening.

``For us, this match has a non-competitive significance but we still have an obligation to give it our all,''he said.

``We are starting our preparations for the 2006 World Cup qualification programme and it's important that every player shows what they can do.''

Among those missing is Lazio star Sinisa Mihajlovic who cried off due to personal problems. He was joined earlier this week his club-mate Dejan Stankovic withdrew from the squad because of injury.
