Football: Scarborough 1 Stevenage 1.

PROLIFIC Anthony Elding earned high-flying Stevenage a point from their trip north.

Defender Kevin Nicholson had put Boro on course for their second successive win when he headed home a minute before half-time, but Elding struck in the 74th minute to ensure a point.

Scarborough, buoyed by their 1-0 win at Tamworth last week, came close to taking a fourth-minute lead but visiting keeper Alan Julian did well to tip Tony Hackworth's shot over the bar.

Michael Brough then forced a good save out of Boro keeper Leigh Walker, who also pushed George Boyd's piledriver over.

Nicholson and Elding traded goals, before Walker saved well to deny Darryn Stamp.
