Football: Roma's surprise bid for Kenny.
ITALIAN giants Roma are being linked with a potential January swoop for Scotland striker Kenny Miller.
Corriere dello Sport, one of the country's leading sports papers, insists Miller's name is high on a list of possible transfer targets being drawn up by the Serie A side's sporting director Daniele Prade.
But Miller's chance of a move from Wolves to the Italian capital could be ruined next week when Roma face a two-year transfer ban.
Authorities are probing the transfer of Philipe Mexes from Auxerre and are expected to announce next week in Switzerland whether or not the Italians were in breach of the rules.
Roma have been warned that, if found guilty of any misdemeanour, they are likely to be blackballed from the market until January 2007.
If they are cleared, they are expected to launch a number of raids and Miller is said to be one of the options to replace golden boy Antonio Cassano who is in dispute and aims to leave on a Bosman next year.
Miller has been linked with former club Rangers, Celtic and Hearts and is also available for nothing at the end of the season
TARGET: Kenny Miller
