Football: Ritchie signs for Pompey.

PORTSMOUTH manager Harry Redknapp yesterday signed Manchester City and Scotland defender Paul Ritchie on a three-month loan.

Ritchie, 27, has struggled to earn a regular first-team place at Maine Road since his Pounds 500,000 move from Rangers two years ago and is expected to make his debut at Norwich today.

Redknapp is short of cover at the back with Hayden Foxe, Eddie Howe and Jason Crowe all out with long term injuries and Italian defender Gianluca Festa struggling to overcome a toe problem.
