Football: Premiership previews.

ARSENAL v EVERTONToday, KO 3pm

GOALKEEPER Jens Lehmann will make his Premiership debut for Arsenal. Martin Keown (hamstring) is back in the squad and Freddie Ljungberg (shoulder) hopes to be fit. But defender Pascal Cygan (hamstring) is out and striker Kanu is not chosen. Francis Jeffers is likely to be a substitute.

Tomasz Radzinski and young Nick Chadwick are Everton's only available strikers. Wayne Rooney (ligament) is doubtful, even as a substitute, and fellow strikers Duncan Ferguson (suspended) and Kevin Campbell (hamstring) are out.

BIRMINGHAM v TOTTENHAM

Today, KO 12noon

BIRMINGHAM will be without England central defender Matthew Upson, serving a one-match ban. Olivier Tebily and Darren Purse will be vying to partner Kenny Cunningham in the centre of defence.

Blues manager Steve Bruce will give first starts to club record signing David Dunn in midfield and keeper Maik Taylor. Christophe Dugarry has shaken off a knee problem.

Spurs manager Glenn Hoddle is set to hand Premiership debuts to new strikers Helder Postiga and Bobby Zamora - with Postiga partnering Robbie Keane up front and Zamora on the bench.

BLACKBURN v WOLVESToday, KO 3pm

NEW signings Brett Emerton and Steven Reid will miss Blackburn's Premiership opener.

Emerton is suspended and Reid has not recovered from an ankle injury. Veteran defender Craig Short (knee) is also sidelined. Andy Cole returns to the squad after missing the last two friendlies with an Achilles injury.

Wolves boss Dave Jones awaits late tests on Nathan Blake (ankle) and Shaun Newton (eye infection).

Steffen Iversen and Jody Craddock are set to start and club captain Paul Butler is expected to retain his place in defence.

FULHAM v MIDDLESBROUGH

Today, KO 3pm

SEAN DAVIS, whose transfer request has been accepted, is sidelined for another three weeks with a knee injury. Centre-back Andy Melville (foot) faces a similar spell on the sidelines. Striker Louis Saha (hip) is fit again.

Boro's Italian striker Massimo Maccarone (ankle ligaments) will be out for ten more weeks. He joins Ugo Ehiogu (knee ligaments) and David Murphy (ankle) on the sidelines. Striker Michael Ricketts (achilles) is out and full-back Franck Queudrue starts a five-match ban. New signings Alan Wright and Carlo Nash are in the squad.

LEICESTER v SOUTHAMPTON

Today, KO 3pm

LEICESTER manager Micky Adams brought in 11 players during the summer and six of them - Les Ferdinand, Craig Hignett, Keith Gillespie, John Curtis, Riccardo Scimeca and Ben Thatcher - are poised to start. Ferdinand will partner Paul Dickov up front. Frank Sinclair, Steve Howey and Callum Davidson are all injured.

Striker Kevin Phillips is in line to make his Southampton debut.

Phillips, a pounds 3.25million buy from Sunderland, is battling with Brett Ormerod and fit-again Marian Pahars for the chance to partner James Beattie.

MAN UNITED v BOLTON

Today, KO 3pm

UNITED are sweating over the fitness of defenders Gary Neville (hamstring) and Quinton Fortune (thigh), while Phil Neville and Mikael Silvestre must shake off minor knocks otherwise skipper Roy Keane will step in as an emergency centre-half.

Of the five summer recruits, keeper Tim Howard is the only one likely to be given his debut.

Bolton forward Youri Djorkaeff could wear a protective face mask after suffering a hairline fracture of the cheekbone.

Defender Simon Charlton could make a shock appearance after recovering from a knee injury.

PORTSMOUTH v ASTON VILLA

Today, KO 12.30pm

NIGERIAN youngster Yakubu Aiyegbeni is likely to partner new signing Teddy Sheringham up front after Thursday's training ground accident ruled out last season's top scorer Svetoslav Todorov. The Bulgarian has knee ligament damage. Patrik Berger, Sebastien Schemmel, Dejan Stefanovic, Boris Zivkovic, Amdy Faye and keeper Harald Wapenaar are all likely to make their bows.

Villa's England striker Darius Vassell has been ruled out with an ankle injury sustained in last week's friendly at Scunthorpe.

CHARLTON v MAN CITY

Tomorrow, KO 2pm

CHARLTON boss Alan Curbishley has to decide whether new signing Paolo di Canio will feature, admitting the Italian could be handed a place on the bench.

Keeper Dean Kiely is suspended and Paul Rachubka has glandular fever, so Simon Royce will start.

City midfielder Paul Bosvelt is missing as a result of a two-match ban imposed by the Dutch FA after being sent off playing for Feyenoord in the cup final.

Joey Barton is set to fill the vacancy, with Eyal Berkovic and Antoine Sibierski challenging to play alongside him.

LEEDS v NEWCASTLETomorrow, KO 2pm

ENGLAND duo Danny Mills and Nick Barmby could have played their last games for Leeds after being left out of the squad by manager Peter Reid.

Reid is definitely without Michael Duberry, Eirik Bakke and Michael Bridges. Centre-back Duberry is out for up to eight weeks with a fractured cheekbone, while midfielder Bakke is sidelined with tendinitis.

Toon boss Sir Bobby Robson has no fresh injury concerns. Ex-Leeds players Lee Bowyer and Jonathan Woodgate are in the squad.

LIVE PREMIERSHIP PLUS, 1.30PM

LIVERPOOL v CHELSEA

Tomorrow, KO 4pm

LIVERPOOL are minus three key midfielders.

Steven Gerrard is suspended, Dietmar Hamann is out until November with a calf problem and Vladimir Smicer is doubtful as he continues to recover from a knee injury suffered in the Amsterdam tournament. Harry Kewell will make his Premiership debut while Steve Finnan, is short of match fitness after a hernia operation and is on the bench.

Chelsea were yesterday hopeful of gaining clearance to have latest signing, pounds 15.8million Adrian Mutu, in their squad.
