Football: New boss 6-1 for sack.
JIM JEFFERIES is set to be handed the task of keeping Bradford City afloat - and was immediately installed as 6-1 to become the first Scottish coach in the Premiership to lose his job, writes Steve Davies.
Coral unveiled the price, under the guise of the Sweaty Sock Race, as Jefferies revealed he will take over at Valley Parade on Monday, two weeks after parting company with Hearts and Chris Hutchings' sacking by Bradford. Jefferies is only joint fourth favourite in a six-man list headed by Coventry's Gordon Strachan at 11-8.
Walter Smith of Everton is next at 3-1, with troubled Spurs boss George Graham at 7-2.
"I have been given an opportunity in the Premiership and that doesn't come too often," said Jefferies yesterday.
Bradford's stay in the Premiership might only be brief - they are as short as 1-7 to go down - and Coral also offer 5-1 that Stan Collymore and Benito Carbone, the club's two controversial stars, both leave before the end of the season.
First Scottish Prem boss to lose job - Coral: 11-8 G Strachan, 3 W Smith, 7-2 G Graham, 6 J Jefferies, A Ferguson, 12 G Burley.
