Football: Money men put United on hold.

DUNDEE UNITED'S pre-season trip to Austria has been put on hold until the board sanction the project.

Provisional arrangements have been made for the four-match tour from July 5 to 15.

Based in Austria, United hope to face GAK and Lask Linz, then cross into Germany for friendlies with Hamburg and 1860 Munich.

But with cost-cutting a priority, the tour has not as yet been given the go-ahead.

Boss Alex Smith said: "One or two financial matters have to be tidied up."
