Football: London next for De Boer.

ARSENAL and Chelsea are set to fight it out for pounds 5m Barcelona star Ronald de Boer.

The London giants have been alerted by the Dutchman's desire to quit Spain after a bust up with his coach - De Boer exploded after being snubbed for the recent match with PSV Eindhoven.

And Holland's Euro 2000 star has told close friends that he has had enough of being messed about by the Catalans and wants to move to the Premiership.

Both Arsene Wenger and Gianluca Vialli have made enquiries in the past for de Boer.

Wenger is a long-time admirer of the strong and skillful Dutchman, while Vialli would see him as a potential replacement for out-of-favour Frank Leboeuf, who looks poised to be sold.

Now de Boer could be ready to trigger off a transfer tug-of-war by demanding a move to England.

He said: "I was not happy being left on the bench for the game with PSV. I am not at Barcelona to watch football - I would be interested in playing in Italy or England if that is the case."
