Football: Lamps must play says Platt; EURO 2008 Mission to Moscow: Russia v England, tomorrow, kick-off 4pm.

Byline: By ANN GRIPPER

DAVID PLAT T is convinced Steve McClaren must find a way to fit Frank Lampard into his England team even if it means tinkering with the formation.

McClaren last switched from 4-4-2 in the loss in Croatia a year ago, but Platt called on him to experiment again if that is what it takes to get the Chelsea midfielder back in the side.

"There's talk about formation, about balance but you must pick your best 11 players," said the ex-England midfielder. "Frank Lampard is still one of the best 11 in the country and the onus is on Steve McClaren to get the best out of him and Gerrard and A.N. Other guy either tactically or by tweaking the formation."

David Platt is co-commentator for Russia v England, exclusively live on Sky Sports 1 from 3.30pm tomorrow.
