Football: Lamey triple sinks Sutton; NON-LEAGUE.

Byline: By Nick Pullen

NATHAN Lamey scored a hat-trick to help keep Bromsgrove Rovers three points clear on top of the Southern Midland Division following a 4-1 thrashing of Sutton Coldfield Town last night.

Lamey took his league tally to 14 goals this term making him the Midland Division's leading marksman.

Leon Doughty had levelled for the Royals before Lamey went on to complete his three-timer with Neil Davis adding the fourth.

Stourport Swifts boss Phil Mullen suffered his first league defeat since taking charge at Walshes Meadow when rivals Rushall Olympic came from behind to secure a 3-1 win at Dales Lane.

Matthew Graham had fired Swifts into an early lead but the Pics responded with strikes from Richard Brown, Neil Kitching and Anthony McGuire.

Chasetown crashed out of the FA Trophy following a 3-0 defeat by Conference North side Hyde United.

The Scholars were soon in trouble when Steve Pickford fired Hyde into an early lead before former Atherstone player Gareth Seddon increased the advantage from the penalty spot on 25 minutes.

A third goal from Dale Johnson after 55 minutes put the issue beyond Chasetown's reach who blew a possible trip to Halifax Town in the next round.

Evesham United's FA Trophy replay with Hemel Hempsted was called off owing to an unfit Worcester City pitch.

Willenhall Town's already delayed ERREA Cup clash with Woodford United also fell victim to the weather.

The winners were due to face Chasetown next Tuesday.

And Willenhall's Birmingham Senior Cup clash with Bromsgrove Rovers tomorrow night is already under threat and will be called off if there is any more rain.
