Football: JUNINHO VOW TO RETURN.

MIDDLESBROUGH'S World Cup winner Juninho will jet off to America this weekend for surgery on his injured knee, vowing to return as good as ever.

The 29-yearold suffered cruciate ligament damage to his left knee in a friendly against Modena in Italy 12 days ago and is likely to be out of action for months.

Boro have insisted all along that they would get the best possible treatment for their pounds 3.8million summer acquisition, whose misfortune struck days after he made his latest return to the Riverside Stadium.

``I am already looking forward to playing for Middlesbrough once I regain my fitness,'' he said. ``I am confident that I will back as good as I was.''
