Football: IN BRIEF - Marine hit back; CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

MARINE bounced back from Saturday's defeat with a 3-1 win at Ashton United in this UniBond Premier league clash.

The Mariners led on 31 minutes with a 25-yard strike from Lee Parle. Ashton equalised on the 55 minutes with a bizarre own goal.

Barry Green played a 30-yard back pass to Andy Ralph who totally missed the ball.

This set back just spurred Marine to greater things and Parle (60 mins) and a third from Shaun Tuck on 74 minutes capped a fine display.
