Football: Hateley axed by County.

RANGERS legend Mark Hateley's footballing comeback was left in tatters last night after he was given the boot by Ross County after just two games.

Boss Neil Cooper - a close friend of the 37-year-old - claimed he was doing more harm than good.

Cooper said yesterday: "I had a gut instinct it was not going to work."

Hateley said: "I'm extremely disappointed and I don't think this decision makes much sense.

"To be told that it wasn't working after just one week is bizarre to say the least."
