Football: HOME TRUTHS FOR THE DONS.

ADMINISTRATOR Nick Wood believes Wimbledon's proposed move to Milton Keynes is vital to secure the future of the club.

The Dons have been placed into administration due to financial difficulties which Wood mainly attributes to not having their own home in recent years.

Wood said: ``The short-term cash flow has become critical. They have not had a ground of their own, the ground-sharing with Palacehas led to their fan base declining and revenue declining. They eventually ran out of cash. They need a home and somewhere to start rebuilding their fan base.''

Former Wimbledon goalkeeper Dave Beasant said: ``It's difficult to blame the fans because they support Wimbledon as a London -based club.''
