Football: EURO BID'S A JEWELL IN CROWN; FULHAM v WIGAN TONIGHT, 8PM.

Byline: By JAMES NURSEY

WIGAN boss Paul Jewell has urged his players to add a new chapter to their fairy-tale season by qualifying for Europe.

Jewell's side have already performed wonders by reaching the Carling Cup final and securing their Premiership status in their first top-flight season.

But with just three points separating Wigan and sixth-placed Blackburn with three matches left, Jewell knows his team could yet clinch a UEFA Cup spot.

"It's been a wonderful season for us and obviously we want to finish it off with three good performances," said Jewell, whose side face Portsmouth and Arsenal in their final two games.

"If we get that, we might just get results too and although we've never really spoken about Europe, it would be another great achievement.

"Our season has only ever been based on staying in the Premiership and whatever happened after would be a bonus."

Wigan will be tested by Fulham as Chris Coleman's side possess an excellent home record, picking up 35 of their 39 points there.

They won their last game at Craven Cottage 2-1 against Charlton, courtesy of a brace from club captain Luis Boa Morte.

And despite the Portuguese star being linked with a move to Benfica, Coleman insists the player - who signed a five-year deal last September - is going nowhere. "Boa has a long contract with us," said Coleman.
