Football: Dobbie goal target.

STEPHEN DOBBIE last night vowed to bang in the goals and save Queen of the South's place in the First Division.

The 24-year-old striker turned down Ross County to pen an 18-month deal at Palmerston last weekend after being released by St Johnstone. He said: "Saints offered me the chance to fight for my place or move on and an 18-month deal at Queens was too good to turn down.

"They train in Glasgow twice a week, as well as twice in Dumfries, so it's more or less full-time. I want to get the team away from the bottom and score a few goals as well."
