Football: Di Canio in bother over `fascist salute'.

FORMER West Ham striker Paolo Di Canio is set to be punished after his alleged fascist salute in the derby clash between Lazio and Roma.

The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) believed Di Canio's controversial gesture during Lazio's 3-1 win over the Giallorossi on January 6 was a breach of Article One of Italian sporting law code. A statement said: ``Without considering the interpretations of his gesture in terms of its political content, Di Canio's behaviour is a contrast to the principles of loyalty and correctness that a sportsman has to follow.
