Football: Costello: Don't blame Dublin.

Byline: By JACKIE CAHILL

ANGRY Dublin officials have blasted suggestions that they were to blame for the ugly scenes that marred Sunday's Allianz NFL clash with Tyrone at Healy Park, Omagh.

Last night, Dublin County board secretary John Costello strongly refuted any suggestion that the Sky Blues were the more culpable party.

Tyrone boss Mickey Harte declined to apportion direct blame after the game - but his comments implied that Dublin were the chief instigators.

And Dublin county board John Costello secretary John Costello reacted yesterday.

He said: "Dublin will fully co-operate with any investigation into Sunday's Allianz National Football league tie between Dublin and Tyrone.

"We are awaiting the referee's report and will not comment on individual cases.

"However, we strongly refute the suggestion that Dublin were the more culpable party in any acts of indiscipline during the game."

Tyrone chairman Pat Darcy refused to apportion blame for Sunday's events.

He said: "I wouldn't get into the blame game - I think we have to leave it to the CDC now."
