Football: Chester leave it so late; TORQUAY UTD .. 0 CHESTER CITY .. 1.

CHESTER City's perseverance and newly found never-say-die spirit again came to the fore yesterday, when an injury time goal earned them a well deserved 1-0 Coca-Cola Two victory at Torquay United Substitute Ryan Lowe was the hero, heading home from close range as City maintained their unbeaten start to the season.

City had a goal disallowed 10 minutes from the end when Lowe's header was ruled out by a linesman's flag, which indicated an offside infringement.

Chester were totally in control in the closing stages but they were finding a stubborn Torquay defence difficult to break down.

However, their perseverance was rewarded via Lowe three minutes into added time Chester City: Mackenzie, McNiven, Bolland, Artell, Regan, Davies, Curtis, Vaughan (Drummond 56), Bertos (Blundell 59), Branch, Richardson (Lowe 46). Subs not used: Dimech, Walker
