Football: COVE.......1 NAIRN CO .......0.

AN EARLY goal won it as both sides spent the rest of the game missing chance after chance.

Mike Beattie struck from John Brown's curling corner.

But Robbie Duncanson and Mark Holmes contrived to miss gilt-edged chances to equalise while Craig McHattie saw his 35-yard scorcher saved by Nairn keeper Mike Rae.

It was more of the same after the break. Beattie's volley came off the bar and Duncanson's shot hit team-mate Ian Brooks on the line to deny an equaliser.

And in the 65th minute Brown rounded Rae only to see Neil Sinclair clear his tap-in as Cove had to settle for one goal.
