Football: COOPER'S SPOT ON TO CHEER UP JONES; Wolves 2 Derby Co 0.
KEVIN COOPER was back in Dave Jones's good books after scoring twice to keep the Wolves boss in his job.
The pair had been at loggerheads for the past 18 months but the midfielder secured a vital victory.
Cooper (above) stepped up to tuck in a 19th-minute penalty after Derby keeper Lee Camp hauled down Kenny Miller in the area and was sent off. And he sealed the win five minutes after the break by curling a brilliant free kick around the Derby wall and past Camp's replacement, Lee Grant.
A dreadful start to the season had yielded just 11 points from 12 games before last night and cast a cloud over Jones' future.
But he is now certain to still be charge for Saturday's Championship clash with high-flying Queens Park Rangers.
