Football: Bristol Rovers 2 Chester 1; CocaCola LEAGUE TWO.

FIRST-HALF goals from Rovers pair Christian Edwards and Craig Disley ensured a seventh successive League defeat for free-falling Chester.

And the visitor's woe was compounded by the dismissal of goalkeeper Stephane Gillet for bringing down Junior Agogo when the striker was through on goal midway through the second half.

Edwards headed home following an early corner and Disley added the second four minutes before half-time.

Substitute Ben Davies fired Chester's consolation late in the game.

It looked plain sailing for Rovers when poor marking allowed Disley time and space to hook home the second with a left-footed volley.

But Chester went down fighting and kept battling even after Gillet had been red-carded, while Rovers maintained their recent momentum and now look towards the play-offs.
