Football: Brazil's final build-up far from tickety boo; WORLD OF FOOTBALL.

Byline: By KEVIN McALLION

PALMEIRAS fans lost the plot in Brazil after tickets for today's Paulista Championship Final with Ponte Preta sold out.

Punters started queuing last Monday night and there was a friendly atmosphere at first as they had barbecues and a kickabout.

But it was a different story in the morning as the lack of kip made them cranky.

The temperature started to rise when fans tried to jump the queue by pretending to be injured and things boiled over as pickpockets and heat exhaustion were added to the mix.

So when news came through there was no tickets left a riot broke out. Some supporters hurled bottles and stones and the police had to use tear gas to restore order.
