Football: ARD LUCK STORY SEES NEWTOWNE TAKE SPOILS; Ardmore 1 Newtowne 4.

THE defining period of this game was midway through the second half.

A poor kick out freed an Ardmore player but with the goal at his mercy, John Quigg's chip hit the post and was cleared by Magee.

Ten minutes later Newtowne took the lead before knocking in four goals in the last 15 minutes.

Ardmore had the best of the first half but chances were few and far between.

Fortunately the second half was better than the dour first half.

Mooney had a volley over the bar before Newtowne took the lead in the 75th minute.

Calvin Mooney found himself free after good work from Nicholl and the young striker curled his shot into the net.

Loughery then doubled the lead as he met O'Hara's flick to end the home resistance.

Loughery's head did the damage again in the 82nd minute with a deft flick from a corner.

Ardmore scored a consolation in the 86th through Quigg before Walsh rammed home the ball after the keeper had saved Loughery's shot
