Food: Mex in the city.

Byline: Words: Kim Carillo.

Debbie Harry was one of the first guests to eat at the newly-opened Dos Caminos Mexican restaurant in New York's SoHo. There's a special celebrity side entrance and even a VIP private room - with its high-quality food and low-key atmosphere, no wonder the beautiful people make their way to the restaurant. Michael Douglas, Billy Zane and Beyonce Knowles have all popped in. `Brooke Shields is a big fan of Mexican food, as well as our Margaritas,' says chef Scott Linquist. `She's incredibly warm and friendly. She comes in with her mother and is sweet and polite. You'd never know she was a celebrity.' Coldplay arrived before the Grammys. `It was a party of 12 and they ordered almost everything on the menu,' remembers Scott. `We've taken the old classic food and style, and combined it with New York stylishness,' he explains. The decor at Dos Caminos is a far cry from the textbook Mexican restaurant - all sombreros and pinatas - and the dining room features chandeliers made from hand-carved logs, while the walls are decorated with tinwork tiles. Many meals are served in the earthenware dishes they're cooked in, and the guacamole is made at the tableside. `Heidi Klum is one of our biggest fans - she comes in here with groups of supermodels. You'd be surprised,' says Scott. `They eat like normal people.'
