Focus Energy Trust announces explosion and fire at Sylvan Lake Gas Plant.

CALGARY, July 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Focus Energy Trust and its operating company, FET Resources Ltd., (FET.UN - TSX and FTX - TSX), reports that at approximately 10:30 a.m. Mountain Standard Time on July 4, 2006 an explosion and fire occurred at FET's Sylvan Lake Gas Plant which is located approximately 15 kilometers southwest of the town of Sylvan Lake, Alberta.

The Sylvan Lake Gas Plant has been isolated and shut down, the fire has been extinguished and there are no injuries to report. The cause of the explosion is not yet known and no estimate of damage is available at this time.

Focus Energy Trust/FET Resources Ltd. produces approximately 400 boepd net through the Sylvan Lake Gas Plant.
