Flying high at Snowbowl.

* From the deck of the bar at Montana Snow-bowl, 12 miles west of Missoula, you can eat homemade pizza and watch 30 ski jumpers hurtle themselves as far as 200 feet. They do it on downhill skis and get their lift off of a naturally occurring jump at this 1,050-acre ski area in Montana's Bitterroot Mountains. The Snowbowl Cup Gelande Championship, February 24 and 25, is one of 11 such events in the country. Jumpers are judged on their distance and form. The winner not only grabs air but also gets part of the $10,000 purse.
