Flydubai drop Moldovan capital.

Dubai: Flydubai is no longer flying to Chisinau, the capital of Eastern European country Moldova, the airline said in an emailed statement on Thursday.

The Dubai-Chisinau route, which launched in November 2013, was "cancelled aACA* for commercial reasons," on Wednesday May 20, a spokesperson from the airline said.

Passengers booked on flights to and from Chisinau from May 20 onwards are eligible for a refund and are advised to contact their travel agent, flydubai travel shop in Chisinau or the airline directly.

Flydubai had to drop a number of routes into neighbouring Ukraine last year in response to the increasing destabilising security situation and civil war in the country's east. Flydubai's website now shows it only flies to the Ukrainian capital Kiev. It's Ukrainian routes previously included Donetsk, Odessa and Kharkov. However, the airline has expanded into Russia with announcements of new routes this year with Chief Executive Ghaith Al Ghaith telling reporters last week he was bullish on the Russian market despite a struggling economy amid weak oil prices and recovering rouble.
