Fly-by blue-turn; RECORD VIEW.

WHAT WHA were the UK Government thinking of blocking the Red Arrows from trailing the colours of the saltire when they did their spectacular fly-by at the Commonwealth Games? It emerged yesterday the original plan had been for the iconic planes to display blue and white but at the last minute this was changed to the traditional red, white and blue.

What a farcical and petty decision by the Ministry of Defence.

It is understandable that both sides of the referendum debate are hypersensitive to the Games being used as a political football.

But going to the lengths of banning the saltire from the Red Arrows may backfire on the UK Government.

Nonsense like this certainly isn't going to make the Union any stronger.
