Flow control products and services provider Flowserve Corporation (NYSE:FLS) is to supply pumps and energy recovery devices for a desalination plant in Cyprus, the company said on Thursday.
Under the terms of the multi-million dollar order from M.N. Larnaca Desalination, Flowserve will provide a complete pump package and energy recovery devices to be used at Larnaca, a 60,000 cubic metres/day (15.9 million gallons/day) seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) desalination plant.
The Larnaca project will make use of Flowserve Calder Dual Work Exchange Energy Recovery units together with Flowserve DMX pumps in the high pressure feed service.
M.N. Larnaca Desalination, a joint venture of Israel's Mekorot Development & Enterprise Ltd and Netcom Limited of Cyprus, will design and rebuild the existing SWRO desalination plant and then operate the upgraded facility for the next 25 years.
