Caption: FLORIDA YOUTH SHINE, an organization of former foster care residents who work as advocates for youth transitioning from foster care to successful adulthood, converged on Tallahassee from points all over the state to educate legislators and urge passage of two bills aimed at easing access to school and personal records on behalf of children now in foster care. They also participated in Children's Week Activities and met with Department of Children and Families Secretary Bob Butterworth, House Speaker Marco Rubio, Leon County Circuit Court Judge Nikki Clark, and others. Florida Youth SHINE is an effort of Florida's Children First, a statewide organization funded by The Florida Bar Foundation and others.
