Florida Town in Danger of Elimination from Map Due to Blatant Corruption.
Even the mayor of the town who is currently serving a prison sentence for selling oxycontin says his town council members and officials are crooks, Daily Caller reported. The recent audit conducted by the state found Hampton officials guilty on 31 different counts, including mishandling funds totaling $132,000 spent at a nearby convenience store. Meanwhile, the town of Hampton, with a population of 500 people, employs about one police officer per 25 residents. But these officers are mainly preoccupied with collecting traffic-related fines. As one local sheriff said, "It became 'serve and collect' instead of 'serve and protect'". State lawmakers, including Sen. Rob Bradley, whose district includes Hampton, say the town should just be obliterated from the map. "This town exists apparently just to write speeding tickets," Mr. Bradley said, in The Daily Mail. "Most people don't understand why it exists in the first place." Ee Ee Ee
