Flexi-time for schools.

A TD has called for Dublin schools to stagger their opening hours in a bid to ease traffic gridlock.

Fianna Fail's GV Wright said the Dublin Transportation Office should work with school principals to help with the expected congestion when children return to school.

He said: "Flexi-time for workers has helped ease traffic problems - but the 8.15 to 9am time period remains a traffic bottleneck.

"I'd like school managers to take time over the summer to consider staggering opening times."
