Mitel(R) (NASDAQ: MITL) said that the Flemish Environment Agency (VMM) is rolling out the Mitel communications director (MCD) platform across its 13 offices.

VMM is an agency of the Flemish government with a mandate to sustain the environment in Flanders. The deployment of the new communication system, implemented and managed by Mitel partner Inia, has been designed to save the government money, simplify management and enhance communication and collaboration for the agency's 1,000 employees.

VMM's upgrade was driven partly in response to growing demand from employees for tools that provide increased mobility and better collaboration with colleagues regardless of their location. By replacing its legacy communication platform with the advanced capabilities of the MCD platform, VMM employees can more easily and cost effectively work together across the agency.

Mitel is a global provider of unified communications and collaboration (UCC) software, solutions and services that enable organizations to conduct business anywhere, over any medium with the device of their choice. For more information visit www.mitel.com.
