Fleet Customer to Test Azure Dynamics Parallel Hybrid Vehicle.

Azure Dynamics recently announced it has signed an agreement with a large North American company for the purchase and testing of a parallel hybrid electric delivery vehicle.

According to Azure Dynamics, the company it has signed the agreement with operates a fleet that consists primarily of Class 3 delivery vehicles, with a gross weight of between 10,000 and 14,000 pounds.

"Our customer is interested in testing and verifying the economic and environmental benefits of hybrid drive technology," said Azure Dynamics vice president for sales Mark Federle.

Azure Dynamics noted that the Southwest Research Institute will conduct testing and validation of the vehicle for fuel economy and emissions reduction.
