Flat prices in Skopje continue to drop: despite of the falling prices, NBRM underlines that the situation with housing loans is stable.

The trend of decreasing flat prices in Skopje continues. In the most recent quarterly report, the National Bank of the Republic of Macedonia (NBRM) warns that the value of real-estate property in the capital city continues to drop. The annual price index of flats dropped by 7% in the first quarter of 2017 and NBRM considers that these projections are a result of the flat price adaptation throughout the country. The central bank expects the construction of new housing facilities in Skopje to slow down, which will stabilize the flat price.

Despite of the falling prices, NBRM underlines that the situation with housing loans is stable.

--There are significant changes in the housing loan demands i.e. solid growth continued in the first quarter of 2017, reads the quarterly report.

The price index of flats is prepared by NBRM based on the advertisements for sale of flats published in the capital city by agencies operating with real-estate circulation.
