Five-storey departmental store gutted.

LAHORE -- The valuables worth million of rupees were reduced to ashes when a departmental store caught fire at MM Alam Road here on Tuesday.

The eye witnesses said that, a five-storey building quickly caught the fire after which fire brigade was called on. On information, fire tenders rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.

The fire-fighters succeeded to control the fire after a many hours hectic efforts. However, no loss of life was reported. Cause behind the fire could not ascertained, Rescue 1122 spokesman said.
