As the world's existing fisheries continue to be fished at or above sustainable levels, there is increasing pressure to develop new fisheries. To prevent these species from also becoming overexploited, managers worldwide are being forced to make difficult fishery management decisions with little information. Collected here are forty-six peer-reviewed articles on how to best manage fisheries with very little data, including new applications of production models, new assessment techniques, and creative fishery management schemes. Themes include case studies, use of local knowledge, multispecies and ecosystem indicators and models, precautionary management practice, and stock assessment models, surveys, and applications.
