Fisher Mills Inc. Purchases Koch Industries' Interest in the Blackfoot Mill, L.L.C.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 2, 1999--

Fisher Companies Inc. (OTC BB:FSCI) announced today that it has acquired Koch Agriculture's 50% interest in the Blackfoot, Idaho, flour milling facility.

Fisher Companies and Fisher Mills, its operating subsidiary, now own 100% of the limited liability structure, which has been renamed Fisher Mills L.L.C.

"With complete operational control this technologically advanced 12,500 cwt capacity conventional mill, we have a greater opportunity to fully integrate Blackfoot with the rest of the Fisher milling and food distribution system," commented Bryce Seidl, President and CEO of Fisher Mills. He added, "This transaction also underscores our commitment to suppliers, employees, and customers, who look to Fisher for leadership in the milling and baking industry."

The conventional mill was added to an existing compact milling facility when it opened in early 1999, and has quickly begun to exceed performance expectations in terms of quality, consistency, and volume.
