Fish sale increases in city.
MULTAN -- With the advent of winter, the sale of fish has increased remarkably in the city as fish meat sale reached nearly 500 maunds per day.
Various restaurants offer sumptuous fish especially in Khuni burj areas, a famous fish point of city. Citizens have also begun arranging fish dinners and parties for relatives and friends.
President Fish Market, Maqbool Qureshi told reporter that the sale of fish increased manifold in the region. He stated that nearly 500 maunds of fish meat was being traded on daily basis these days. He further added that the quantity would increased to nearly 9000 maunds daily during extreme season.
He said that fish farming was also on rise in Muzaffargarh, Multan and Khanewal districts. He added that ample stock of fish would be available and prices would range from Rs 250 to 350 per kilogram throughout the season.
A consumer Saad Qureshi, while purchasing fish from Fish Market, informed that their family used to enjoy fish during winter. He added that fish meat was vital for human health because it acted as a shield against heart diseases.
