Fish release Old Woody 2002 strong ale. (Weekly Specialty Beer Report).
Horton reported that Old Woody has been brewed to a robust 10.0% ABV, aged in oak wine casks for at least six months, and then bottle conditioned. "The mighty Fish brewers have brewed Old Woody in the style of English strong old ales with a huge malt profile," Horton said. "After six months in the casks, this ale has a rich character, with hints of honey, vanilla, and roasted nuts mixed in with the distinct wine flavor from the barrels."
The 2002 Vintage will be released February 1. Only 130 cases of 12-750 ml bottles of Old Woody were created for the 2002 Vintage.
