First-half goals hold up for Spartans.

Byline: The Register-Guard

Kathleen Konrady and Shelby Groshong scored first-half goals to lead Marist to a 2-0 District 5 prep girls soccer victory over Central on Tuesday.

Konrady scored in the fifth minute on an assist from Ashley Brumback, and Groshong got her score in the ninth minute off an assist from Rachel Copeland.

Nicky Younger got the shutout in goal for the Spartans.

Pleasant Hill 6, Cottage Grove 0

COTTAGE GROVE - Audra Bruington and Rachelle Townley each scored two goals and had one assist to lead the Billies (4-0-2).

Alyssa Price and Amanda Krumdieck combined in goal for the shutout as Pleasant Hill outshot the Lions 14-4.

Philomath 8, Junction City 3

PHILOMATH - Jenn Brown had three goals and three assists, and Becca Oien had three goals and two assists to lead the Warriors (4-1-1).

Christie Richards scored all of the Tigers' goals.

Elmira 2, Santiam Christian 0

ELMIRA - Brittany Caswell scored goals in the 18th and 41st minutes to lead the Falcons.

Michelle Sconce assisted on Caswell's second goal, and Crystalyn Pusch and Amanda Cole combined in goal for the shutout. Elmira outshot the Eagles 17-2.

District 3

North Bend 3, Sutherlin 0

NORTH BEND - Jessica Richey and sister Jaycee Richey scored first-half goals, and Lauren Harsh scored in the second half for the Bulldogs.

Jenna Graham got her fourth shutout of the season for North Bend, which outshot Sutherlin 21-2.

Glide 4, Brookings 0

GLIDE - Becky Osborn scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Wildcats to the win.

Seri Schwendiman and Amanda Perine had a goal and an assist apiece for Glide, which outshot the Bruins 29-4. Kayla Fummerton recorded her third shutout in goal for the Wildcats.
